IELTS Journal October 6th

Dear Diary,

Today I woke up early, at around 6:30am. This was amazing, because I didn’t even use an alarm! I guess going to bed before 10pm has it’s advantages!

After getting a cup of coffee in me to help clear the sleep out of my eyes, I took my breakfast to the couch and went to the New York Times website. I thought I’d let fate decide what I’d read about today, so I simply closed my eyes, swiped up and jabbed my finger at the screen.

The random article I chose turned out to be fascinating! It was called Good Vegan, Bad Vegan. Not only did I learn new vocab. that I will totally use on my exam, like vehemently and distort, but I got some perspectives on veganism and vegetarianism that I had no idea about. Man, I know some pretty uptight vegetarians that seem to laud their healthy choices over me. Now I have scientific facts to bring into our next debate!

After reading the article and adding 2 words to my vocab. notebook, I remembered to exploit the article, as Jessica said recently. So, I pretended to talk to Sarah, that snobbish vegetarian I know, and I told her all about the facts that I read. I totally won that argument!

On my way to work, while I was on the train, I took 5 minutes to review my vocab. notebook, then for the remaining 20 minutes I watched an episode of The Office, the UK one. Holy cow- I got some raised eyebrows as the other passengers heard me laughing out loud!

After work I took my dog for a walk, as usual. On the walk, though, I listened to the new episode of Spooked. That is, hands down, the scariest podcast that ever existed. This one was about a TV producer in Indonesia who was filming a show about ghosts. He discovered a house that was possessed by animal spirits! I might have to sleep with the lights on tonight!

Before I had dinner, I spent an hour with 3 Keys IELTS. Today I learned, and practiced, how to write organized body paragraphs for my Task 2 essay. Jeez, I had no idea! My writing used to be so disorganized!

20 days til I get an 8+ on my IELTS Exam!
