A subscriber to this YouTube channel commented that she was given a Part 2 cue card recently on the exam, and she wasn’t sure how to answer it.

This was the card:Describe something interesting a friend has done that you want to do.

This student wasn’t sure if she should talk about work or school, or maybe even a gift.

None of those would be appropriate for this card. Work or school aren’t necessarily interesting, and a gift is not something you ‘do’, it’s something you give or receive.

My advice is to talk about a unique experience a friend has had, like skydiving, or a travel experience. Travel would be great, as there are so many details you could give.

However, taking this one step further, it would be easier to describe an experience you had, and just pretend that a friend did it.

This way, you will have a lot of details to share in your 2 minute speech, and you will be more fluent, as remembering your own experience is easier than recalling someone else’s.

That’s what I did in the video- I described a train trip I took with my son, but just said a friend did it last year.
