How would a native speaker answer IELTS Part 3 questions about the media?

Media includes newspapers, internet, radio, TV and movies.

Although media is a common topic on the IELTS exam, in both Speaking Part 3 and Writing Task 2, many students find communicating about this difficult.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that you probably don’t talk about these ideas in your first language, let alone English!

So, while you watch today’s video, please take notes on how I introduce and link my ideas, what specific reasons/examples I use, and also how I organize my answer.

Question 1:

What are the most popular TV programs in your country?

(*Note: Remember in your answers to also include what programs people access online.)

Question 2:

How might TV influence children, both positively and negatively?
