Who Grades Writing?
I’m wondering, if I use the same vocabulary in the two tasks, can it affect my score? Will the examiner look at how many times I’ve used the same word overall in the two tasks, or will the examiner look at the two essays as two separate pieces?
You can definitely use the same vocabulary in both essays.
Most examiners grade all the Task 1’s first, and then score all the Task 2’s second. They don’t even look at the names, really.
So, they won’t know if you repeated vocabulary in both tasks.
These days, most test centers split up the essays, so different examiners will be grading your Task 1 and Task 2. So, there is no chance of an examiner comparing your two essays back to back.

Finally, usually only one examiner will grade each of your essays.
At times, the examiners will be checked and, so, another examiner will check your essay’s score.
Also, if there’s a huge difference in your results, your Speaking or Writing will be checked a second time.
Who Grades Speaking?
The examiner you talk to will be the one grading your Speaking test.
Again, usually that is the only person giving you your scores. The recording will only be listened to by another examiner in the same instances as those previously mentioned for Writing.
The recording is also used when students ask for a check on their results.
