andreas awesome advice ielts 7.5Today you’ll hear our 3 Keys student Andrea’s awesome advice for an IELTS 7.5 overall.

Andrea got the score she needed on her FIRST ATTEMPT!

Her scores: a 7 on Listening, Reading and Writing, and an 8.5 on Speaking.

Her greatest help was our Road map, to practice every day, and to know that she is practicing everything she needed to.

Her favorite part of our recommended resources were the sites with different levels to practice Listening, pushing herself to tackle the advanced level English, like www.esl-lab.com.

How to get an 8.5 on IELTS Speaking

Andrea studied abroad in the U.S., so she already had an overall high level of English.

However, she hadn’t kept the English up since living abroad.

So, inspired by the 3 Keys study plan, she sought out native speakers to talk to, and she used iTalki.

How to get a 7 on IELTS Listening

Andrea got distracted due to nerves, or else she would have scored higher! It can happen to anyone– even a student as advanced as Andrea!

Unfortunately, she was seated next to a young student who was making a lot of noise, which triggered the distraction for Andrea.

This is why it’s important to practice the test in uncomfortable situation, such as a study table at the library with other people.

How to get a 7 on IELTS Reading

The course taught her how to manage her time in order to find all the answers in an hour, without reading every word.

She also listens and reads a lot on the NPR website.

How to get a 7 on IELTS Writing

She found the Writing Exam easy!

Andrea thinks that if she had included more specific details, she would have received a better score.

Her last words of advice are to follow the Road map, work as hard as you can, and try to find native English speakers to practice with.

Now that she got her scores, she will apply to immigrate to Canada!
