Today find out how to sound natural and just like a native when you tell a story in IELTS Speaking Part 2.

Get three phrases to use to introduce your story for a better score on this part of the test.

One of the best things you can do for your score in Speaking Part 2 is to tell a story.

Click here to find out why.

So we know that it’s important to tell a story but we have never given you the phrases that you need to do it.

The difference between a 6 and a 7 when you introduce this story is to use phrases that a native speaker would use.

You cannot just use phrases that you have read in a textbook. If you do that you will get a 6.

Here are some phrases you can use that will get you that 7 or higher:

  • “So this one time, this is hilarious….” or “Well this one time…”
  • ‘This is super scary,….”
  • “This topic immediately brought to mind this memory from the past…”
  • “You know, there is an experience that I had that is still so vivid in my mind.”
