Students are always asking for feedback on their IELTS speaking practice.feedback ielts speaking

Why do you need feedback? What kind of feedback do you need to improve your IELTS Speaking exam scores?

Fluency and Coherence

As IELTS is a strictly organized test, following the same time limits, test structure and grading criteria on every exam, you need to know what the examiner is looking for in this respect.

For example, how should you organize your two minute Part 2 speech? How should you organize your answers in Speaking Part 3? What linking words does the examiner need to hear on the 3 parts of the IELTS Speaking exam?

You need an IELTS professional to help you with these strategies, as she/he is the only person who can give you the most useful feedback directly connected to the IELTS Speaking exam.

Vocabulary

You cannot just speak naturally and get a high score in all categories on the IELTS exam. You must show the examiner native speaker slang and idioms in Parts 1 and 2, and also present the examiner with some higher level vocabulary in Speaking Part 3.

Only a native speaker can help you with the appropriacy of slang and idioms, and help you to use vocabulary in a natural way that secures you a 7 or higher in this category.

Grammar

As I’ve said before, worrying about your grammar is a waste of your IELTS preparation time.

However, you should get feedback on the amount of varied sentence structures you need to be using and on how to correct mistakes that you may be making over and over. These two things will impact your IELTS grammar score.

Pronunciation

Of course, you do need live feedback from a native speaker on how to improve your Pronunciation.

And it’s not just about individual sounds, such as how to say the “th” sounds correctly.

You need someone who can help you improve intonation and stress, and help you come across as comfortable, positive and confident on IELTS exam day.

In our course, the 3 Keys IELTS Success System, we have a variety of ways to get feedback from an IELTS professional on your IELTS Speaking practice.
