So, what steps should you take to properly prepare for the Writing Exam, and not waste your time?

  • Read good writing and IELTS model essays.
  • Learn how to satisfy the exam requirements for a 7+ in Task 1 and Task 2.
    • You have to know the unique quirks of the IELTS scoring system
  • Practice writing good, high-scoring essays, not worrying about time. You can do this 2-3 times a week.
  • In the 2-3 weeks before your exam, practice while timing yourself. Again, no more than 2-3 times a week.
