IELTS Energy 307: How Bullets Break Part 2 Answers

In today’s episode, I talk to Kendy Shirasu from Brazil all about IELTS Speaking Part 2.bullet points break part 2

Although Kendy has an impressive level of English, he was still struggling in this section.

In Speaking Part 2, you must speak for 2 minutes.

To nail that 7 or higher here, you must not only fill the 2 minutes, but your speech must be coherent and organized.

The best piece of advice to do this?

Don’t bother with the bullet points!

Yes, that’s right. Do not even read them. The examiner does not care if you cover those.

How bullet points ruin your Speaking Part 2 Score:

  • They waste time when you are planning. You only have a minute to take notes before you speak. You should use that minute wisely by focusing only on the topic (i.e. Describe an artist you admire)
  • When it was Kendy’s turn to start speaking, he would forget about his notes. He would instead just glance at the bullet points. This lead to an unorganized answer, and he didn’t have enough to say.

The most important preparation for Speaking Part 2?

Practice, practice, practice.

What do you think of Kendy’s questions and my advice?

  • Bullets wrote nothing . Story-telling is a conversation between you and examiner . Your brainstorm is the first thing you need to do . Your note is the stepping stone . Stand firmly by Teacher Jessica and follow success . Eat , sleep , and breathe 3 KEYS . Go the extra mile !
